Wedded Bliss {Austin Style}

The day we had been planning for and looking forward to for over a year finally came!  My brother, Kyle, and his {now} wife, Madeline, were married on a beautiful Saturday in Austin, TX a few days after Thanksgiving.  We were down there for the whole week so I apologize that it has taken me this long to post an update as it took a bit to catch back up.

Wedding - The Bridesmaids

It was a perfect autumn day – the sun was shining and the leaves were just starting to turn. The bridesmaids were in their self-chosen dresses in an elegant shade of wine and the groomsmen were looking dapper in their gray tuxedo vests.  Madeline’s dress was a beautiful strapless A-line dress with gorgeous lace detail. The bridesmaids {Madeline’s three sisters, Becky, Theresa, and Claire, her friend Lindsay, and myself} had so much fun getting ready together that morning.

Kyle and Mads Wedding Day

Kyle and Mads had planned on doing pictures ahead of the ceremony so we were able to catch adorable first look pics before we loaded up on to the trolley to head out to various locations around Austin.

Wedding - Best Man & Maid of Honor

Mark and I were so honored to be the best man and matron of honor in the wedding. We were beyond excited for Kyle and Mads that we were just happy to share in their big day.

Wedding - Burnside Siblings

The ceremony and reception were held in a wine bar with an amazing event space in downtown Austin. It reminded us of one of the wineries we had visited during our own honeymoon in Chile. Madeline’s family friend presided over the ceremony giving it an intimate and extra special feel. We then dined on a marvelous spread of southern comfort foods like honey fried chicken and gourmet mac and cheese, and danced til we shut the place down.  At the end of the night, we gathered just outside the venue with sparklers in hand to send Kyle and Mads off as they were whisked away by their pedicab chariot. {I so wish I had snapped a photo of this – but was too caught up in the moment to get a pic} It was a perfect end to a perfect day.
