Planning our honeymoon adventure

My husband and I were married November 10, 2012.  We took our time planning our wedding (we got engaged in August of 2011) and had a wonderful experience throughout the entire process.  Though we went on an amazingly relaxing “mini-moon” to the American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin directly after the wedding, we knew we wanted to take our time to plan the perfect honeymoon adventure.

As some of you may know, Mark and I love wine.  We take an annual trip to West Michigan wine country every March.  When trying to select our destination for our honeymoon, we thought why not go to where they produce one of our favorite wines – Malbec? We quickly agreed to take a trip across Argentina and Chile.

We did a lot of research on different areas to visit and tour groups to travel with.  We finally selected a tour company that specialized in wine and adventure trips (how perfect!).  Due to the reverse of the seasons in the Southern Hemisphere, we booked our trip over our first anniversary in November (so it will be their Spring).

We will be hiking in the Andes, riding bikes from vineyard to vineyard, take a cooking class on Chilean cuisine, going ziplining through the forest, and rafting through a river. Needless to say, though the summer is just beginning and we have many fun plans in store, we cannot wait for it to be Fall again!

How did you choose your honeymoon destination?
