Have you seen Beyonce’s new visual album? It’s amazing and so much more than a few music videos. If you haven’t seen them, I would highly recommend it!
This past week my friend, Stacy, hosted a BeyDay party where a few of us girls gathered at her house to watch all 17 videos. We were dancing, singing, and generally geeking out the whole time. Stacy (and her husband, Patrick) served up some tasty bites as well as a delicious themed cocktail, she appropriately named the Blue Ivy.
It’s a great gin and fruit preserve cocktail. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 2 oz. gin (Stacy used Death’s Door gin, which is a regional favorite around here)
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1 oz simple syrup
- 1 tsp blueberry preserve
Stacy made her own simple syrup by combining two parts sugar to one part water. Boil it until the sugar dissolves and then let it cool. Also, since our get together was on a Friday night, she made the simple syrup and mixed it with the gin and lemon juice the night before.
When you’re ready, serve over crushed ice and add a tsp of blueberry preserve to each glass. Stacy also recommended trying it with a sprig of rosemary, she just left it out to stay true to the Blue Ivy theme
